Types of internal medicine

Internal medicine includes multiple disciplines, such as:

  • Endocrinology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Hematology
  • Immunology
  • infectious disease
  • Nephrology/urology
  • Neurology
  • Cardiology
  • Pulmonology

Our approach to internal medicine

Similar to working on a jigsaw puzzle, our veterinarians try to create a complete picture of your pet’s health issues before administering treatment. We collect and match the many necessary pieces of information from the patient’s history, clinical signs, lab results, imaging studies, and special testing.

Diagnostic services in internal medicine

Our internal medicine capabilities and diagnostic services include the following:

  • Video endoscopy, like gastro-duodenoscopy, bronchoscopy, proctoscopy/colonoscopy, cystoscopy, and vaginoscopy
  • Diagnosis and monitoring of endocrine conditions, including adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid, insulin and sex hormone evaluations, and diabetes
  • Feeding tube placements
  • Bone marrow biopsies and aspirates
  • Tumor biopsies and fine needle aspirates

  • Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) taps
